WHEN YOU WALK INTO THIS CLASSROOM-
READ AND DO THIS NOW:
1- You need your Chromebooks and your Outcast books.
2- Sit with your reading groups today on the rectangle tables- NO ROUNDS.
3- Have your CALENDARS OUT ON YOUR TABLES.
BELL RINGER:
1- TURN IN YOUR LIT CIRCLE SHEETS.
2- Use the Lit Circle #1 assignment post on Google Classroom.
3- DELETE the other 3 sheets before you turn in.
4- If you are not done, move to one of the round tables to finish. Only 2 per table please.
CLASS ACTIVITY:
1- Stamps will be given today for DISCUSSING the 1st part of your books/reading goal #1 and for turning Lit Circle sheets on time.
2- I'll be walking around to check Questioner sheets and stamping your calendars for today.
3- EVERYONE needs to answer the Questions from the Questioner.
4- EVERYONE must share their information-- Research, Summary, and setting images/descriptions from the Travel Tracer.
5- When your group is done, Questioner you need to turn in your sheet.
6- The rest of the period you should be READING or WORKING on your Blog pages-- writing your reflection on your blog page and/or working on the home page etc.
IF your sheets are not done today--
HOMEWORK:
1- READ-- Read your Outcast book. You have a new reading goal for next week.
2- Lit Circle #2 is next Friday 2/9.3- Continue reading your Independent Reading Book and working on your IRB Guide at home for homework.

BELL RINGER:
1- Open your Lit Circle sheets for this week on your computer.
2- If you have a question about Lit Circle sheets-- how to do them, something you don't understand, something you want to be clarified-- write them on today's calendar block.
CLASS ACTIVITY:
1- Stamps will be given today for WORKING on your lit sheets, SETTING up your blog page, READING your Outcast book.
2- We'll discuss any of your questions about the Lit Circle sheets.
3- The rest of the period you should be READING or WORKING on your Lit Circle sheets.
4- Sheets are DUE at the start of class TOMORROW. You must have your sheets DONE in order to participate in your literature circles.
5- Friday is a discussion day IN THE LIBRARY-- head there for class. No need to come to our classroom. Remember you will answer the Questioners questions AND share your sheets with the group.
6- IF your sheets are not done at the START of class tomorrow--
1- You will go to working lunch today Periods 1-4/Monday for Periods 7&8
2- You will not be able to participate in your Lit Circle. If you do not participate in your lit circle you get a Zero for Lit Circle participation.
3- You will lose points on your Lit Circle sheets which is a QUIZ grade.
Be ready for your Lit Circles! It is homework if you do not finish today in class!

BELL RINGER:
1- Look at the Lit Circle #1 Assignment Posted on Google Classroom.
2- READ the instructions.
3- Find the sheet you need to use this week.
4- Start setting it up for this week's Lit Circle.
CLASS ACTIVITY:
1- Stamps will be given today for setting up your sheet and being ready to complete it as you read your book.
2- We'll discuss the sheets and the jobs.
3- The rest of the period you should be READING or working on your Lit Circle sheets.
4- Sheets are DUE at the start of class on Friday.
5- Friday will be a discussion day-- you will answer the Questioners questions and share your sheets with the group.

Today is Tuesday, January 30
WHEN YOU WALK INTO THIS CLASSROOM-
READ AND DO THIS NOW:
1- You need your Chromebooks and your Outcast books.
2- Sit with your reading groups today. If members are absent, then we'll meld a few groups together.
3- Have your CALENDARS OUT ON YOUR TABLES.
BELL RINGER:
1- Open your Lit Circle practice sheet for "The Voice" and finish the parts you need to. You have 10 minutes.
2- While you are finishing I'll be calling role-- you will need to show me your book either online or in your hand. If your book is online I'll need to see that you have the entire book available and not just part of it.
2- I'll come around and stamp at the end of 10 minutes. If you are not done- no stamps.
CLASS ACTIVITY:
1- After your group gets stamped, you can start your Lit Circle discussion.
2- Start with the Questions-- go around the table and each person needs to take turns asking the 2 questions on your sheets. Have a DISCUSSION about the story.
3- Then share your research, read your summaries, and show your travel tracer pictures.
4- After the discussion, you need to decide the following:
What Literature Circle Job you will have each week- write then on your calendars in the MONDAY boxes for this week and the next 2 weeks:
1- Questioner
2- Researcher
3- Summarizer
4- Travel Tracer5- Remember- you need to do 3 different jobs. Your groups need to have one questioner each week, and you cannot have 2 people doing a job per week.
6- Then you need to decide on your reading goals for each week so you know what to read for this week and what part of the book you will discuss each week.

READ AND DO THIS NOW:
1- You need your Chromebooks and your Outcast books if you have them.
2- Sit with your reading groups today.
3- Have your CALENDARS OUT ON YOUR TABLES.
BELL RINGER:
1- Open the short story "The Voice" in Google Classroom and READ it silently to yourself.
2- It's very short- you'll have 10 minutes. You should be READING when the bell rings.
CLASS ACTIVITY:
1- We'll discuss "The Voice" and the different Lit Circle Jobs.
2- We'll discuss Questioning and the difference between Level 1, 2, and 3 questions.
3- You'll have the rest of the period to finish your work for a Practice Lit Circle on The Voice sheet.
Literature Circle Jobs:
4- TUESDAY in class you will conduct your practice Lit Circle after completing your sheet.
HOMEWORK:
1- Finish your practice sheet for the Lit Circles- The Voice Lit Circles in class tomorrow Tuesday 1/30.
2- IF you don't have your book- you need to get it this afternoon. You need to purchase or download your book by Tuesday 1/30. You must have it in hand/on screen for a grade.3- READ-- Read your Outcast book or continue reading your Independent Reading Book and working on your IRB Guide at home for homework.
