I will not do anything past 2020 for the history sections unless they were born after 2020, as many events are too recent. Website still incomplete.
There are seven different types of countryhumans in my canon. Countryhumans, that is, the personifications of countries; Statehumans, the personifications of states, as well as provinces and emirates; Territory Countryhumans, the personifications for territories and colonies; Autonomous Zone Countryhumans, the personifications of autonomous zones; Indigenous countryhumans, the personifications of indigenous peoples; Organizationhumans, the personifications of organizations; and micronations, the personifications of micronations.
They also have scientific names, some given to them by a friend of mine, eggocactuses, and some given to them by me.
Countryhumans: Patriae anthropos
Statehumans: Patriae anthropos provincia
Territory Countryhumans: Patriae anthropos colonia
Autonomous Zone Countryhumans: Patriae anthropos autonomum
Indigenous Countryhumans: Patriae anthropos nativus
Organizationhumans: Patriae anthropos organizationis
Micronation Countryhumans: Patriae anthropos exiguum
As the main group of personifications, countryhumans are from where all of the other groups derive their names from. This group
of personifications is also the most powerful group, as they can impose their will on their subdivisions (although not the indigenous countryhumans) and wield the most power globally. They are the ones that are most commonly scrutinized by the public due to the fact that they are the almost face of the countryhumans world.
Compared to the other types of personifications, they age physically the fastest and also feel the most stable (the age chart is expanded on more here). They are more solid and, therefore, more resistant to disease and the like. However, they often die really quickly due to government changes, as a major government change leads to a new personification being created. They are not the most common form of countryhumans, although many people consider them such. They are the most highly respected kind of personification by many people.
However, this group can also include Governments-In-Exile, who, even though power over land are still considered countryhumans.
Statehumans are perhaps the second most well-known group of personifications in the world. However, they are not as powerful as countryhumans themselves. They age slower when it comes to physical age. Instead of being born physically fifteen like countryhumans, they are born as children between six and eight before becoming fourteen within about two to three years.
Like countryhumans, they also can die really quickly due to government changes but can persist under different names and slightly different governments. It is also common for nations to become states, such as Bavaria or Texas.
Commonly mistaken as statehumans or countryhumans, Autonomous Zones are their own unique category of personification and the second most populous (thanks to China and Africa). I also include Traditional African Kingdoms that still exist, although not as independent states, under this category.
They age the same way that regular countryhumans due, lending to the confusion that they may be countries in their own right. However, like states, they are born as children between six and eight before growing to the proper age of fifteen. They also run the risk of dying due to their government being dissolved or if they lose their autonomy, especially in the cases of Autonomous Zones in unitary states like France and Britain. However, depending on what the autonomous zone is, they can live after losing autonomy because they are an autonomous region for a certain ethnic group.
While now referred to as territories, they were originally called colonies, so I grouped them both together as they function in pretty much the same way. Territories follow the same aging scale as states and are often born in the same age range, six to eight. However, their health is often tied to their land, and they are prone to bouts of sickness. This is less common in the modern era than it was during the peak colonization period. Territories can also be controlled by their colonizer, as their governments are not a sure thing, and they depend more on their colonizers.
They are sometimes grouped with statehumans, as it has become the colloquial term for any subdivision personification, although that distinction is not correct.
While they are the most numerous group of personifications, they are also the most vulnerable, as they have no government to support them and instead rely completely on the existence and culture of their people. Like countries, they are typically born as fifteen-year-olds, although the status of their people can change this.
There are many conspiracy theories surrounding their existence, as many people want to believe that there is no way for a personification to exist without a government, which also ties back into conspiracy theories that indigenous personifications do not exist. Regardless of all this, they are the personifications that live the longest, as they are not killed by governmental changes, making them one of the most vulnerable but longest-lasting personifications.
The newest group of personifications are the Organizationhumans, the personifications of international organizations. They are the youngest form of countryhumans, as the oldest one of their kind was only born in the early 1800s, although one could argue that early military alliances such as the Catholic League could fall under this category. However, I consider international organizations and those which define themselves as such. They are similar to countries in how they are born and how they age, and they will remain alive so long as their organization still exists.
They are the only type of personification that cannot switch between types. They will always be an organization.
They pick up languages very quickly if they are the official languages of any of their member states and tend to be born with the skillset required to be that organization (ie, NASA was born with the knowledge of astronomy and rocket science) and while young, some are still held in high regard and treated with respect, however some seek to manipulate the organizations for their own gain.
Micronations are the weakest form of personification and have the fewest actual personifications. They are born under incredibly specific circumstances, and they often become sick, weak, lethargic, or die quickly due to their lack of recognition and control over the land they claim. This is on top of the fact that most micronations aren't personified, and no one can just proclaim they made a new country and get a countryhuman.
If a micronation is personified, it is because it either has control over its land or a large enough "population," therefore garnering a personification.
