I will not do anything past 2020 for the history sections unless they were born after 2020, as many events are too recent. Website still incomplete.
Michigan, also known by his human name, Malcolm James Washington, is a caring, thoughtful, and stubborn individual who is very resolute in his beliefs and ideals. He can be stubborn to the point of being argumentative and uncooperative, but despite this, he is usually easy to get along
with.
He is very cheerful, especially in situations that he is comfortable with. Michigan is very confident in himself and has a solid sense of identity and who he is.
Despite his cheerfulness, there is also an undercurrent of sadness in Michigan, a result of his struggles with depression as well as other events in his life. Michigan is not someone who takes the time to grieve, preferring to repress things instead.

Michigan is five foot four and physically appears around 22, with brown eyes and messy wavy black hair, usually kept short at only an inch or two long. His right wing is amputated just after the “elbow” on the wings.
In country form, his flag is on his face, aside from the lower ribbon, which is on his neck. His skin is the same dark blue as his flag, and the backs of his hands have the same small sunset from its shield. He has little white diamonds on his knuckles.
In human form, he looks mixed but usually passes as white. 73.9 White-26.1 POC, based on the 2020 census (this is also a very loose definition, but I am trying to give you a good baseline for "mixed"). The largest ethnic groups are German, Irish, Latino, English, and African American.
Michigan used to be thinner but with the loss of his flight is a more average weight.
Michigan’s animal features are that of a bald eagle, elk (a subspecies is Rocky Mountain elk), and moose. He has bald eagle wings, a moose tail, elk antlers, and elk ears. His canine teeth have also been replaced by elk ivories. He gained the eagle wings with the creation of his territory seal in 1805, and the elk and moose features come from his first flag, created in 1835. His wingspan is 14.29ft.
Michigan has a tattoo of a forest of simplified trees on his right forearm and wrist that he got in 2005.
When Michigan was younger, he had dark brown hair that slowly changed to black as he got older. He lost his wing during the Siege of Vicksburg in 1863.
From January 11, 1805 to July 9, 1805, Michigan had a dulled version of the 15 star and 15 stripe "Stars and Stripes" Flag
From July 8, 1805 to June 2, 1835, Michigan's face was the territorial seal.
From June 2, 1835 to 1837, Michigan's face was the state seal.
The flag Michigan had from 1837 to July 4, 1865, is lost, as no surviving images of it remain aside from these old images of a badly damaged flag. The flag was described as "the flag featured the coat of arms plus a woman and soldier. The reverse featured a portrait of Stevens T. Mason."
Michigan's flag from July 4, 1865, to August 1, 1911, is also considered lost to time, but was described as such "The woman and soldier were removed from the obverse. Mason’s portrait was removed and the U.S. coat of arms was added to the reverse," making it a doubled-sided flag. It is believed to be similar to the modern Michigan flag.
Despite complicated feelings and conflicting ideas about who he was, Michigan considers Upper Canada to be one of his brothers. Even though he does acknowledge that Upper Canada's loyalties were elsewhere, and that his family doesn't like his remaining attachment to the British Colony, he can't bring himself to forget him entirely. Michigan is very defensive of Upper Canada, while he does have a more forgiving and apologetic view than is truly accurate, he firmly believes that the rest of his family, especially United States, is too hard on him. He views United States's distaste and hatred of Upper Canada as hypocritical and unfair. That Upper Canada's beliefs only stem from having had no other option in life, and finds it disturbing that United States was able to drop familial ties with him so easily.
Part of his defensiveness comes from the fact that Michigan had known him personally while he had been kidnapped in 1812- and therefore has many more positive memories relating to him- But it's also because Michigan sees a lot of himself in the deceased colony. Feeling that if he hadn't returned home, Michigan would have been a lot like Upper Canada. Even though they hadn't seen much of each other following the end of the War of 1812, when Upper Canada died, Michigan mourned him for a long time. Going so far as to secretly attend one of his funerary services in Windsor. Overall, Michigan misses his deceased brother and remembers him fondly, though not without regrets.
