State of Indiana

Indiana, also known by her human name of Indiana "Indy" Harper Washington, is an independent and headstrong individual. She is very confident and intelligent. She is not prideful, but she is simply confident in herself and her abilities.

She easily picks up new things and learns new skills, especially things involving machines, which come naturally to her. She enjoys learning, especially hands-on learning. Indiana is someone who always has to have her hands busy, as it helps her think.

She is headstrong and hates being told what to do or controlled by others. She hates being looked down upon most of all and would rather do things by herself than deal with them. She can be a bit short-tempered because of that, as well as impatient, wishing that things would come faster than they are.

She can also be very petty, and when someone annoys her, she messes with their things to mildly inconvenience them, even over the smallest slights.

Physical Description

Indiana is four foot ten and physically twenty-two. She has brown eyes and curly brown hair cut in a pixie cut. When she is in her country form, her hair becomes textured like bison fur. She has freckles that become golden stars in her country form. She has a missing right pinkie.

In her country form, her face is her flag, and the blue from her flag carries down the rest of her body. She has a torch on her right hand but a few stars on her left.

In her human form, she looks white, 77.2 White-22.8 POC, based on the 2020 census (this is also a very loose definition, but I am trying to give you a good baseline for "mixed"). The largest ethnic groups are German, English, Irish, and African American.

Indiana is muscular.

Animal Features

Indiana has bison animal traits, with the previously mentioned bison-like hair, horns, ears, and tail. She gained these in 1816 with the creation of her seal.

Historical Description

Indiana has not changed much in appearance other than cutting off all her hair in 1976 in favor of a pixie cut and the animal traits.

From May 7, 1800 to November 22, 1816, Indiana used a modified version of the seal of the Northwest Territory (pictured above, as there are no records of this original seal that I could find).

From November 22, 1816 to February 21, 1855, Indiana's face was her seal.

From February 21, 1855 to March 9, 1901, Indiana had her first official flag.

From March 9, 1901 to May 31, 1917, Indiana's official flag was the same as that of the United States, and therefore isn't dulled.
