I will not do anything past 2020 for the history sections unless they were born after 2020, as many events are too recent. Website still incomplete.
This page is because I feel I cannot accurately represent the United States System from any of their viewpoints, as their will be inherit biases in the way each alter views the system. This page is going to go over each alter, their roles, and a little more into how they developed.
The United States acts as the host and is the alter that represents the interests and identity of the personification of the United States. He acts as the parent to any American subdivisions in the system and is the one that fronts most for politics and other countryhuman related events. He is often called the "original" by people outside the system, and to an extent, that is what he thinks of himself as, as he is the personification the body was made for.
James was the first of the human alters to really come about back in 1609-1610. He is a protector and gatekeeper and works to keep a lot of the abuse from being witnessed by the rest of the system. Nowadays, he keeps much of the memories of their trauma away from everyone else. James views it as his job to make sure everyone else in the system can have relatively trauma-free lives.
Rebecca is an ex-persecutor, now protector. She came about at the same time as James did but was never as active in the system due to them being "safe" with Britain, from her point of view. She verbally abused many of the other alters during America's War of Independence in a misguided attempt to help them. She thought independence would never be won or be permanent and saw the verbal abuse as "necessary" to remind the system of the "facts" (what Britain had taught them) that would convince them to give up the rebellion and go home before Britain's anger at them got worse.
After reforming from a persecutor in the interwar period, she now works as more of a protector. While she does not hold any specific memories of trauma, she works with James to keep America safe. She is very trigger-happy in that goal, preferring to "protect first and figure out the situation later."
Caleb is a sexual protector and memory holder of all memories that relate to sex. He first came about in 1830, and no one is really sure where they came from. They protect the system from memories of sex and sexual abuse, and he is always fronting or close to the front whenever there is a conversation involving sex. He also takes care of any romantic relationship the system is in and is, more often than not, the one initiating and starting any romantic relationships.
Lydia is a caretaker who often works to ensure that everyone in the system is taking care of themselves. She came about during the Civil War, when the system was tearing itself apart over how to manage everything. She would often look after the younger territories that had been born during the war, trying to prevent them from seeing the violence and the magnitude of it. She is also an internal self-helper, trying to keep the system at peace, including trying to make fighting systems get along.
Mabel was born during the Civil War and often worked to ensure that only the people she thought capable of fronting were fronting. She can be bossy and somewhat controlling with others in the system, leading to conflicts, but she is trying her best in her own way to try and protect people.
Charlie was born during the Civil War and was incredibly hostile toward the Southern states. He tends to see things as very black and white, and blames them for all the pain that he witnessed during the Civil War. While he doesn't front often and is rarely around, he will fight with anyone that tries to defend the Southern States, as he refused to forgive them in any way.
Yapam is a child alter who was born around 1590. He appears six to nine, and is often called "America's childhood innocence." Yapam is actually an alter that was formed when United States was living with the Croatan and was the main person fronting during that time. As a result of that and the fact that he rarely fronts, Yapam still strongly identifies with that period and lives as if it were that period. He is not very close with anyone else, as they are unsure of what to do with him, but he was a co-host during the system's childhood, and has retreated back from that as the system has grown.
The former personification of the Indian Territory, Yonaguska, is a very passionate young man who fights for the rights of Native Americans. He has a very rough relationships with others in the system due to this, as he has hurt the body to punish the others for their crimes against Native Americans. After the birth of his son, Oklahoma, Yonaguska began to calm down some, focusing on raising his son. He still holds a lot of anger towards others in the system, but he does not hurt them anymore and instead focuses on trying to change their minds and fronting when he can to help his people.
He is not the most active person in the system, and really just wants to be there for his son. He doesn't mind not interacting with the others as long as he can be there for Oklahoma.
Newport was originally a colony, but after he was brought into Rhode Island, he became just the city. Newport is dormant a lot and rarely interacts with the system outside of a few people. He also isn't the most trusting of others in the system, as he is Jewish and believes that others in the system might hurt him for it. Therefore, he is closed off and just keeps to himself.
Warwick was originally a colony, but after she was brought into Rhode Island, she became just the city. Warwick is dormant a lot, but when she isn't, she is very social, trying her best to talk to as many people as she can. She can be a big overbearing and much, but just loves being able to talk with others in the system.
Portsmouth was originally a colony, but after he was brought into Rhode Island, he became just the city. Portsmouth is dormant a lot. Portsmouth is also a child alter, and often sees himself as around ten. He has trouble talking to others in the system if he is not with Warwick or Newport, and prefers to stay with them. He's nervous and shy.
Conch Republic is a very abrasive person and was a bit of a persecutor when she was first born, constantly arguing with United States over her identity, and trying to hurt him when it didn't work out. Around the 1990s she began to calm down and they began to talk more, and now do not suffer those issues.
Molossia is a very passionate alter and is very argumentative with others. He feels strongly about his identities and will sometimes try to front to make the a reality, or at least convince the person fronting that they should do them.
Talossa is an age slider and was born around the time her micronation was created. She can be a bit frosty with others and hates it when people try to take care of her when she is younger. She is very independent.
Eastport is a very chill and laid back alter who likes to offer his advice even when it is not appreciated.
Zaqistan is a child alter and he is very social in trying to talk to others. He is shy when it comes to interacting with the protectors, however, and doesn't like being near the front. He only interacts with the other micronations for the most part.
Some of the other cities and micronations of the United States exist within the system as fragments and are not distinct enough to have their own identities.
