New Mexico, also known by her human name of Dolores Adelina Washington, is a cheerful and cheeky girl. She is very go-with-the-flow and just enjoys existing and enjoying life. However, she can be very cheeky in her humor and attitude.
New Mexico is very proud of her state and her culture and takes pride in her differences. She takes pride in the good parts of her history and does her best to make up for the bad parts when she can.
New Mexico is very optimistic and chooses to look at life with a positive lens. She does not want to believe that things will be bad forever and instead chooses to think of how things can grow and improve. She is very big on sharing her optimistic viewpoints and insists to people that it is impossible for things to stay bad forever.
She used to be very cruel when she was younger, seeing those actions as necessary for her survival, and she was not one that you wanted to anger. During her time as a Mexican Territory, she calmed down some, as she gained some stability in her life. After the Mexican-American War, that ego and cruelty softened more and fully diminished.

New Mexico is five foot five and physically twenty-nine. She has black eyes and shoulder-length, curly black hair. She has vitiligo, which shows up in her country in the form of a paler yellow.
In her country form, her face is her flag, with the yellow carrying down the rest of her body. The Zia Sun Symbol is also present on her chest.
In human form, she is often called Native American or Latino, 51 White-49 POC, based on the 2020 census (this is also a very loose definition, but I am trying to give you a good baseline for "mixed"). The largest ethnic groups are Latino, Native American (Mainly Navajo), German, and English.
New Mexico is slim and skinny.
New Mexico has the features of a lion, a golden eagle, a bald eagle, the American Harpy Eagle, and a snake. She has American harpy eagle wings, bald eagle feet, a feathered back (golden eagle), scales on arms and legs, small fangs, a lion tail, and lion ears. She gained her lion traits on May 28, 1785. She gained her golden eagle traits on September 2, 1821. She gained her snake traits in 1823. She gained her bald eagle traits (including the feathered back) in 1851 while gaining the harpy eagle in 1913. Her wingspan is 11.16 ft.
New Mexico used to look very native when she was a child, and slowly became more mixed.

However, the seal has been lost, but is described as "Consisted of the American eagle, clutching an olive branch in one talon and three arrows in the other. Along the outside rim was the inscription 'Great Seal of the Territory of New Mexico.'"
From 1887 to March 13, 1913, New Mexico's face was this second territorial seal.
March 13, 1913 to March 12, 1925, New Mexico's face was her current seal.
From 1915 to March 12, 1925, this was the unofficial flag of New Mexico. She could probably switch to it, but didn't want to.
