I was guided by the idea of home and childhood when creating this piece. I thought this fondness of childhood and home is represented here as my brother's arms are wrapped around our shoulders and we all wear our baseball and softball uniforms for when we played little league. I used this reference image (to the left) to create this piece and also added in a red string connecting the foreground to the background. The red string represents baseball stitchings as they are also red. 

I used watercolor for the majority of this piece when painting the background and people. I incorporated red and white string/yarn that wraps around the piece and into my brother's Red Sox uniform. I also used a bit of fabric for the red socks.

I started sketching out and brainstorming a variety of ideas. I went with this one and using a reference image I created this out of watercolor. I wanted to capture the vivid colors of the shirts with the material by layering and shading the watercolor paint. I thought it would be cool to incorporate the red yarn into the piece as it relates to baseball stitching. I wrapped the string around the three of us and then integrated it into my brother's uniform,  blending it into the foreground.
