When choosing an image, I was inspired by my recent kayaking trip in Washington and thought it would be fun to try to recreate it digitally in Photoshop. I knew it would be a fun challenge to capture the sun's reflections and ripples of water and all the intricate details throughout this piece.

This art was made digitally through Adobe Photoshop. I used a variety of tools that allowed for outlining, filling in, and erasing. This was a very different medium we have made art with, as it is digital, and I enjoyed adjusting and manipulating it in a new way.

Once I picked out an ideal image that was captured by myself I got to work recreating it using Photoshop. My chosen image was intricately detailed which made my process more time-consuming and difficult and affected the alterations I had to make to my art. I often simplified the complex areas while still trying to maintain their realistic quality.  For example, areas like the water and trees were hard to replicate exactly so I made it slightly more plain but recreated the color and overall shapes.
