What guided my work was the object I was carefully observing.  I had to make sure to include the little details to get it as accurate as possible. In all of the shoe drawings as well as my hand holding a rubber band, I attempted to draw exactly what I saw. For this kind of art, I did not use my imagination to create something creative, rather than having to replicate what was in front of me.

The materials I started out with were a piece of drawing paper and graphite pencils. For these contour drawings, I used a pencil to create both dark and light lines to strengthen the contrast.

The process to make these contour drawings began with observing the object in front of me. I made sure to notice the small details and features of the shoes and my hand. I sketched out the overall shape and from there I darkened and solidified the lines. I made sure to have the closer parts of the shoes have darker lines, while the farther part of the shoe was the lighter the lines. I did this to add to the art and create more depth.
