Nature #2

West Coast

6" x 12"

Prisma colored pencils, rain water

What guided me through this was the theme and inquiry I am exploring. I wanted to convey nature thoughtfully and differently than my first investigation piece. I went on a trip to California and thought this was a nice perspective that portrayed nature well. I liked the distant point of view and the effects it can have on art.

I used Prisma colored pencils and a little rainwater I collected previously. I attempted to burnish and blend. I completed this on a wood block which was fun to use. The wood also represented nature.

When beginning with this project I picked an image I captured that conveyed nature. I sketched out a rough drawing on the wooden blocks and then went from there and began to draw. When choosing this picture I liked the color and perspective and the way it portrayed nature and I tried to capture that when drawing this.
