Midterm Circles

When creating this piece I was guided by the requirement of including a 5 x 4 arrangement of circles. With this prompt I brainstormed up this idea and went for it. I've always loved making mountains in my art and thought this was a great opportunity! I wanted to use one of the circles as a moon so I set the scene in the night. 

I started out with a pencil and sketched out a general outline. I think went in with the Prisma colored pencils and completed the drawing. I tried to burnish with the colored pencils to enhance the quality of the art. 

When I was first introduced with the prompt I brainstormed and chose this idea of a landscape of circles. I thought it would be an interesting way to include the 20 circles into my art by incorporating them into the mountain, sky, and moon. I blended the circles so that it almost looked like puzzle pieces. I also chose to use one of the circles as the moon and liked how that matched up on the paper. I colored gradients in every circle so that the circles would stand out but also blend in.
