I was inspired by my sustained investigation exploring the impact of home and family and childhood. When I was younger, My family and especially my dad, made cinnamon rolls all the time and I thought I could convey this through an art piece. This image represents my home and childhood when incorporating this food we always had. I included me and my dads hands at the bottom of the piece to show us rolling the dough up into cinnamon rolls. 

I used Prisma colored pencils for the majority of the piece. For the brown paste on the cinnamon dough, I mixed cinnamon and glue together and painted it on the piece. I mixed in this real material, enhancing the synthesis of materials. 

I started brainstorming what else could represent home and family and this came to mind. I then sketched it out on paper and began drawing. I left a blank rectangle in the middle, leaving room for the cinnamon glue mixture. I included a wood background and a rolling pin with similar colors. I also drew the hands with a similar color theme. I wanted to have similar colors in all the aspects of the piece, bringing it all together. I also wanted to include the hands because they show ideas of family and home with my dad's hands and mine rolling the dough up.
