Welcome to the Read Theory pilot course! Included on this page you will find an overview of the program and details on how to create your account and get started!
Read Theory - What is it?
Read Theory is a new program that is designed to help students build reading comprehension and critical thinking skills. Similar to Khan Academy, the software will get to know you as a student and build a customized course around your skill level and goals. As one student that recently passed the HiSET says:
"Read Theory really helped me to know exactly what to look for when I read a passage. It helped me get ready for all the types of questions I saw on the Social Studies, Science, and Reading sections, and even with breaking down Math word problems!"
Some of the other benefits of the program include:
Build your reading comprehension and critical thinking skills
Access over 1,000 assessments (instead of trying the same problems over and over)
Practice with the exact types of questions you'll see on the Reading, Social Studies, and Science sections of the HiSET exam

Then, just play around on the site and see what you can find. You can try a few exercises and check out the data that you get after you start completing each activity.
