Downloading the Practice Test

Here's how to download and take the practice test at home!

There are 6 total files:

1. Reading

2. Writing

3. Math

4. Science

5. Social Studies

6. Blank answer key

Remember, this is not an interactive test. So you can either look at the files on your computer screen and write down your answers, or print the tests and circle the answers in the test books.

Downloading the files

You will notice that the files below are password protected.

The password for each is "hiset."

And here are a few reminders before you get started.

• After you score the exam, be sure to submit your results using the form below

• Don't take breaks in the middle of any subject; once you start a subject, be sure to finish it within the allotted time; you can take breaks between subjects

• You can take the whole test on 1 day or split the sections over multiple days

• You can use a calculator on the math section

Scoring the Exam and Submitting Results

The answer key for each section is included at the end of each file. After you finish the whole test, you can score it yourself. Then please submit your scores and your essay using this online form.
