Overdue Assignment Alert!
Online classes are great because of the flexibility and convenience. You can study anytime and anywhere! For these same reasons, they can also be challenging since there isn't a teacher pushing you to get online or a specific time when you have to be at campus. That's why time management and planning are so important!
This assignment is required for all new eLearn students and will help you build a weekly planner where you choose specific times to dedicate each week to online studies!
Click here to access the assignment now!
(It was due by 9pm on Monday, July 20th)
What should I study on Khan Academy?
Khan Academy is AWESOME! But it can also be overwhelming since there are so many courses to choose from!
First, remember that Khan is always getting to know you. It's okay if it still seems too hard or too easy. As you work on problems, make mistakes, and figure things out, the website will adapt and keep building a unique course designed just for you!
Second, remember that the HiSET math section is on very specific subjects. So, you should make sure that you are taking the right courses! Therefore, these are the only courses you should take (for now) on Khan:
And a few more tips for being successful on Khan:
Sign-in with the same Google account - this is how the website gets to know you and how you earn eLearn hours!
Use a calculator as much as possible - you can use a calculator on the HISET, so it's good to practice with it now as a way to save time and make fewer mistakes. It's not cheating; it's being resourceful!
Use many options to learn - being successful in an an online course means knowing how to find help when you need it; so, use the hints and videos on Khan, and you can always look around on YouTube and Google for extra support!
Stick with it! If you were trying to learn Japanese or Chinese, you wouldn't expect to get it right away. Math is a new language too! So be patient, work hard, and keep at it!
