Good Afternoon, eLearn Students!
I hope your first week of coursework has been going well. For now, you should've played around with Khan Academy for a couple hours just to get familiar with the website; and you could've also tried one of our Activities On-Demand. Included in this email, you will find a few free resources and details on your first official assignment!
Tech Tip: Click here to download Google Chrome for free for the best experience with Khan Academy and Google Apps!
First Assignment
Online learning (studying at home) can be a huge advantage because it is convenient and accessible at any time! But it can also be challenging because it requires you to manage your time effectively and avoid distractions. The focus of this activity will be to build a weekly planner which we will use to help us maintain a consistent study schedule throughout the week.
Click here to get started with the weekly planner assignment.
This assignment is due by 9pm on Wednesday, April 22nd.
Hours Requirement
Remember, to stay in good standing, be sure to complete at least 3 hours per week. The first official week starts tomorrow and continues until next Thursday (our weeks run from Friday-Thursday). So get started with a strong first week by finding the time and committing yourself to Khan Academy and other online coursework!
You can always track your hours here (they will be updated every Friday).
Conferences
In addition to 3 hours of online coursework per week, you should also be participating in a Conference once every 2 weeks. I'm glad some of you have already signed-up for your first conference, when we will talk about your test scores more and set some goals. To sign-up for the 10-minute bi-weekly conference, click here (or you can wait until the 2nd week if you know next week will be too busy). And remember to find a time when you can be at a computer!
New Courses
Are you ready to start working on your reading and writing skills? If so, we've got new courses starting next week and the week after, so click here to learn more about sign-up now (which is always optional - you get to choose how you spend your time online!).
As always, email me with any questions or comments, sign-up for your first conference, and see ya online soon!
