Good Afternoon, eLearn Students!
What a great week of phone conferences! I'm finding that it's helpful for me to talk by phone with everyone as it's easier to share updates and set goals. I'm looking forward to continuing the phone conferences every 2 weeks. Remember, this is a new requirement. All students must sign-up for a phone conference at least once every 2 weeks.
Also in this update you will find:
New reading/writing activity
Updated hours tracker
New Reading/Writing Activity
Driverless cars? How do you feel about a car that drives itself? What if humans were no longer allowed to drive? What are the pros and cons? This week, everyone has a chance to complete a short reading and writing activity about driverless cars. It's a great way to earn hours while building your writing skills around an interesting and futuristic topic!
Click here to get started with the short lesson, which is due by 9pm on Tuesday, January 27th!
Updated Hours Tracker
How many hours do you have? How close are you to reaching 60 hour goal? When you reach 60 hours, you will be eligible to post-test, which is a great way to measure progress from these course and determine how ready you are for the HiSET.
The updated hours tracker is now easier to read, so check it out today! And remember, the next round of post-testing will be held on on February 4th and 6th. So if you are in the 20-40 hour range now, try to spend time over the next few weeks on Khan Academy and in other course offerings to bring your hours to 60 so you can join us at City Park for post-testing!
Have a nice weekend, everyone!
