Good Morning, eLearn Students,
Happy Friday! Thanks to those of you that have taken the time to participate in a phone conference. Each call has been great to catch up with you, share resources, and get motivated for the next month! If you haven't done so yet, be sure to sign-up for a 10-minute phone conference now. This is a new requirement for all eLearn students, so be sure to sign-up today! There are plenty of times available for next week!
This week, we have lots of exciting updates, including details about an upcoming course offering. Included in this week's digest, you will find details about:
Last chance registration for "Serial: The Podcast" course
Details about GAIN post-testing
A new, easier to read, Hours Tracker
"Serial: The Podcast"
This Sunday, we will begin our first course of 2015. Built around NPR's award winning show, "Serial: The Podcast," the course is designed to help students build reading, writing, and social studies skills. Each weekly assignment will take about 1-2 hours to complete, and the course will last for 8 weeks.
Click here for more details to register for the course that starts on Sunday!
** Remember, these courses are optional. Join us if you want to practice reading and writing skills - you can also skip this course and enroll in other course offerings to be announced later in January and February **
Details about GAIN Post-Testing
Once you reach 60 hours, you will be eligible to post-test, which is an opportunity to measure your progress from this session and determine how ready you are for the HiSET exam.
The next round of post-testing will be held on on February 4th and 6th (times to be announced). So if you are in the 20-40 hour range now, try to spend time over the next few weeks on Khan Academy and in other course offerings to bring your hours to 60 so you can join us at City Park for post-testing!
Updated Hours
I've updated the hours tracker to make it easier to read, and it's accurate as of this morning, so check your hours now to see how close to 60 you are!
Have a great weekend everyone! Come find me on gChat!
