4 tips for getting started learning Math
Use stress management and relaxation techniques. Be aware that you are feeling nervous, take deep breaths, be mindful that it is okay to struggle and get answers wrong -- that is part of the learning process.
Combat negative thinking. Replace those negative thoughts (“I can’t do this”, “I’ve never been good at math”, “I won’t finish in time”) with confidence-building affirmations (“I can learn this if I work hard and make lots of mistakes" and "I don't know how to do this...yet!")
Visualize yourself succeeding. Athletes use the technique of “visualization” to prepare for major competitions. Imagine yourself being relaxed doing math and during a test as you confidently solve problems.
Work with others. Talk to your teachers and classmates. Post questions in Classroom and Google Hangouts. We learn from each other, so let's stay in touch!
