Career Research Project
Let's be honest, there's usually a reason why students want to earn a HiSET. Is it to go to college? Is it to find a new job? Or maybe's it's to advance in a current position? Whatever the reason, the purpose of this project is to formally present why we are in school. In other words, the focus of this project is to answer the following question:
What careers and professional opportunities will I pursue during and after earning my HiSET?
The Goal of the Project
Getting started with anything should always be to think about the goal (the end result). After all, once we know where we are going, then we can figure out the best way to get there. The goal of this project is to:
To identify prospective career options
To use the internet to research and gather career-related information
To present findings in both written and presentation format
Estimated time to complete: 6-8 hours
The End Results
Just like how thinking about the end goal can be useful when getting started, so can thinking about the end results. In other words, what will we produce? Our finished project will include:
A Google Docs summary of your career research
A Google Slides career presentation
In addition, we will use neworleans.craigslist.com, monster.com, indeed.com, or even just Google to find at least 2 active job postings in the New Orleans area.
