Week 2: Time Management
Start Here
Do you feel like there's never enough time in a day to get everything done? Are you usually showing up late and feeling rushed? This week, we will practice building different time management strategies to help us get more done in the day and feel accomplished each night!
Estimated time to complete: 1-2 hours
To get started, check out the LESSON OBJECTIVES next!
Lesson Objectives
You can also use this as a checklist to measure your learning. In other words, by the end of this week, you should be able to:
Identify which part of the day you are most productive
Identify time management techniques and apply them to your everyday lives
At the end of the activity, be sure to come back to these goals and make sure you are able to complete each item successfully. And when you are ready, you can move on to the LEARNING ACTIVITIES.
Learning Activities
Use the following as a checklist to make sure you've completed the whole activity successfully:
Take a time management survey in Part 1
Build a 3-day activity log in Part 2
Read an article and watch a video in Part 3
Write about what you've learned in Part 4
Next, check out the video introduction in PART 1.
Part 1 - Survey our current time management skills
Let's start with a short online questionnaire that will help us determine how good we are at time management now. Be sure to save your score so you can submit it through this week's writing activity.
Next, let's start tracking our own time management in PART 2.
Part 2 - Build a 3-day activity log
Tracking your own habits over 3 days will give us data to determine how well we are spending time and if there are ways we can improve our time management skills. Here's an example of what a good activity log looks like:
Now that you seen an example, spend time tracking your own activities over the next few days. Then, share your log in this week's writing activity.
Next, check out a good article and video in PART 3.
Part 3 - Read and watch about time management
Sometimes learning from others is the best way to grow as an individual. So let's start by reviewing these 21 tips for improving our time management skills. As you read, focus on finding 1 or 2 tips that you find most relevant to your life.
Now check out this short video introduction to different time management strategies.
And finally, let's write to reflect about what we've learned in PART 4.
Part 4 - Write about what we've learned
Sometimes the most important part of the learning process is to write and reflect about what we've learned. Click into the icon below to access this week's writing activity!
