Class Collaboration

The subject of my drawing is...well I'm not sure, but I think it is a water and land. I'm not sure of this because, I was given a tiny picture to draw, for a puzzle piece, and I had to draw it as detailed and as precise as possible. I studied a picture and drew what I saw, I used pencils first to the it, then I added color shaded the dots in the dark color spots (the water) with pencil. I didn't chose to create this specific artwork, I was given a tiny picture that I had to draw, or a puzzle piece, and I had to draw it as detailed and as precise as possible. Elements and principles I used was, contrast. I used this by, using both dark and light colors to make my drawing. I also used color, y adding dark blue to my drawing.

A composition rule and technique I used was, grouping. I used this kind of, by drawing a group of dark sections of the right bottom corner of the drawing, and leaving the rest with little blue sections, but mostly white. I added color to the drawing, by adding a dark marker (dark blue) over the pencils, but I covered, the white spots in the dark with the marker, so instead of restarting, I colored the lighter sections in the blue with pencil.

I'm not sure what the meaning of this drawing is yet, because I don't know what the puzzle is supposed to be yet, sense it isn't finished. But again, I was given a tiny picture to draw, for a puzzle piece, and I had to draw it as detailed and as precise as possible, so it could mean anything. Well, I guess this could relate to anyone's life because your coloring one puzzle piece, just like you're "one life coloring" or living in this world. You are one person that makes up the entire population. So in a way, this puzzle piece could relate to anyones life, if you you think of it like that. If I could change anything about my artwork, I would have made it a ton neater, because it looks a little messy, and use different colors. because I think it looks kinda ugly.
