The subject of my creation is a blooming rose. The class was given a big piece of paper and was told to choose one word to describe the last couple months of their life and I chose knowledge I made this piece by rolling a tiny piece of paper for the center and then wrapping small strips of paper around it with hot glue until it looked like a little rose. I then made the leaf by cutting a shape of a small leaf and dipping it into a glue and water mixture. I then curled it at the end and for a cool effect and then waited for it to harden as it dried. I chose to create this specific artwork because I thought it showed how I bloomed in the last couple of months. Specific elements and principles I used in my art was, shape with the leaf and petals. I also used pattern as you can see with the different layers of petals.
Composition rules and techniques I used for this project are grouping with the center, petals and the leaf. I also used leading lines from the lines of the petals. My project evolved by changing my word from stress to knowledge which changed my idea process with the sculpture.
The meaning behind my artwork is how people can change in a short period of time in a good way, and the changes that they go through make them who they are. The story behind it is how I've changed the last couple of months and gained so much knowledge not only school knowledge but of the world around me. This project relates to my life because it reflects how i've felt my last couple of months have been. If there was one thing I would change about this project I would make it a little bigger because it is pretty small and I would try a little bit neater with the glue because you can see some of the hot glue on the sides.
