Aynslie
7.5" x 10"
The story behind this piece is about my friend Aynslie and the meaning behind the shadows on her face. I took a picture of Aynslie next to a window with some lace which casted some really cool shadows over her face. This project relates to my life because this is one of my best friends and I wanted to take a picture of her because I really like how it turned out and all of the intricate parts of it.
I made this work with my film camera and spent a 15 minute process developing the film and drying it out. I then made an enlarged print and I put a 2.5 filter on it to make the photo less dark and I developed through the process in which you develop photos (develop, stop, and fix).
I took this picture using contrast and experiment. I incorporated the contrast with the shadows against her face and eyes and I experimented with a new medium. In the future if I do this again, I think I might push the contrast a little more like in my inquiry question and somehow add color weather that be with a gel pen or some other type of medium.
