One Earth
8.75" x 10.75"
The idea of the Earth slowly getting ruined in phases is quite evident in my work. I chose the moon phases and incorporated with the earth in different phases until it is irreversible. We are in a time of global warming and raising awareness for it. It is very important especially I feel to us teens because we are the people that need to worry about cleaning up and fixing it. And I think that is why so many teens show up to climate marches and climate strikes because we are so scared. And we don't want to be the only ones to make a change.
When I made this artwork first, I sketched it out with a 2H pencil. I then filled in the background with watercolor and paint. Then, I painted the the Earth phases with acrylic paint and I painted the main circle in the middle with white ink. I then added extra details to the background with white ink to add stars.
I used shape, value and contrast in this artwork. I used shape with the different phases of the Earth. I also used value in the range of values in my project. And I also used contrast the contrast in darks and lights in my painting. At first i was going to do a print for my project, but I really couldn't go through with it because it wouldn't clearly transfer. If I worked on this further, I would center the words and make the big white circle into a sun.
