The subject of my art is a zentangle representing the emotion of depression. I made it with an HB pencil, pen, acrylic paint and watercolor. I made this by drawing many different zentangles that portrays different emotion, then I chose one and zoomed it out to be bigger, and this is the result. I chose to create this specific artwork because I really liked the way it looked and how the colors went together. Elements and principles I used was, line by emphasizing them with the water color. I also used grouping by grouping together the different globs together.
Examples of composition rules and techniques that are showcased in my artwork was, grouping. I used this by grouping the three globs that are facing downwards and the one glob that is facing upward. And the one going upward is in a group by itself and they are seperated. I also used rule of thirds where the group one the left takes up 2/3 of the project and the "group" on the right is in the 3/3 on the project. My project at first was going to be a disperse of dots, and then I decided to change in and do this emotion of depression instead.
The meaning behind this artwork is depression. We were given different emotions that we were supposed to make zentangle out of them. I made it so it seemed it sad because the blobs were drooping down portraying sadness. This project relates to my life because I know depression is a big thing around the world and I think everyone should be more aware and raise more awareness about. If there's one thing I would change, the lines underneath the water color, by going over them with a blick pen.
