Sustained Investigation #10

Lines

7.75" x 10.75"

The story behind this piece is about my friend Gracie and the lines over her face and surrounding her. I took a picture of Gracie a long time ago in the light room. And I was looking for inspiration for my next project. I new that I wanted to use photography again but I wanted to incorporate more color and contrast to answer my inquiry question. This project relates to my life because this is one of my best friends and I wanted to take a picture of her because I love her and I think people should see the beautiful human being she is everywhere and through art.

I took this photo a long time ago and I wanted to use it. I was going to keep the color in the original photo but it was very yellow and so I decided to fix that by making it black and white. This also helped emphasize the contrast in the photo so that helped a lot too. I then used an app on my phone called Picsart and I used it to draw lines in the background and her face. I used pink and white because white adds more contrast especially in a black and white photo and pink adds color to the photo.

I edited his picture using contrast and color. I incorporated the contrast with the black and white and the white lines i also incorporated color through the pink lines over her face and in the background to not only add color but relate the foreground to the background. In the future if I do this again, I think I might add more colors and experiment with more lines and placement with those lines.
