Feeding the fish is very simple and easy, but must be done with patience. Extra time spent daily when feeding can save time on cleaning and dead fish removal, as well as keep the tank from becoming overridden with toxic chemicals. A goal when feeding is to let almost no food reach the bottom. Small amounts are okay (the bottom feeders will eat it!), but those amounts must be controlled.
We do not feed fish on weekends, and this is okay because it is healthy for them to go on a "fast" every so often. That being said, they should still not be left unfed for more than four or five days.
