Check Lesson Plan - Do you have everything you need for games/activities?
Roll out targets, place arrows/quivers (3 arrows/kid)
Check class size - If under 20, have two kids (6 arrows total) per stall. Adjust as necessary.
Cover whistle calls, Ways to Shoot/Not to Shoot
Safety talk should take no more than 5 minutes - Make it interactive! Have them split up and read sections, then come back together and discuss, etc.
DO NOT sit and lecture them.
Age-appropriate stretching/movement game.
Each class should have a specific lesson plan, which includes level-appropriate aspects of:
Main Shooting Activity - Focuses on aspects of archery such as form, aim, etc.
Extension/Challenge Activity - To challenge/adjust for those who have done Rec/KS archery before.
Have campers help clean up the archery equipment and carefully and neatly put it away
Include an “exit ticket” - a question for them to answer, a task to complete, etc.
