The OSU KidSpirit aquatics program is based on the American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program. It features six levels of progression, with two versions of Level 6. Each level offers a clear, structured progression with measurable objectives and a well-defined evaluation criterion. Instructors adhere to Red Cross protocols and create and implement lesson plans that align with the objectives and expectations for each level, as outlined in the skill sheets.
The aquatics staff includes the Aquatic Supervisor, Head Swim Instructors, and Swim Instructors. Additionally, Camp Counselors, Counselors in Training (CITs), and Teen Leaders are assigned to assist groups of campers in the pool during Summer Day Camp.
