ALL THESE NEEDS TO BE FILLED IN!!!
It is VERY SUPER DUPER IMPORTANT that our webpages follow the best practices for SEO. THESE SETTINGS ARE LOCATED AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE.
The way that search engines get a rough idea of what the page is about is through something called meta tags. It is also the texts that show up in a search result.
We need to set the meta title, meta description, and meta keywords for all pages so that we make sure it shows up on the search result the way we wanted and the search engine knows what's on the page to match them with searches.

DONT MESS WITH THESE!!!
THIS PART IS SUPER IMPORTANT!!! Misconfiguration can cause the page not to show up on Google at all! THESE SETTINGS ARE LOCATED AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE.
If you do not want search engines to find a page at all, set it to NOINDEX, which means they will not index the page. Otherwise, make sure it is unchecked!!!
Do not check any of these unless you know what you are doing! These are robot.txt settings that control how search engines interact with the page.

THE TITLE, DESCRIPTION, AND IMAGES NEEDS TO BE FILLED IN!!! LEAVE THE REST ALONE!
THIS IS ALSO SUPER IMPORTANT! THIS AFFECTS HOW THE PAGE SHOWS UP IN SOCIAL MEDIA AND ALIKE! THESE SETTINGS ARE LOCATED AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE.
Open Graph protocol is how social media and software like Slack gets a preview of the site. So yes in a way it is a short preview of the website and it is very important the same way previews are on YouTube.
They are in many ways similar to meta tags, they have OG title, OG description BUT they also have OG image, the picture that shows up in a preview! Make sure it is the right picture you want people to see not some random image on the page such as G ACA from the Cooking page.

KEYWORDS!!!! USE KEYWORDS!!!
This is kind of important... Okay VERY VERY IMPORTANT... THESE SETTINGS ARE LOCATED AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE.
URL is also used in search engines to provide lots of things including keywords matching, DO NOT ASSUME PEOPLE CAN'T SEE IT. Make sure if it is gymnastics, use gymnastics NOT gymnastics-01 NOR gymnastics-spring NOR gymnastics-2021. If it is gymnastics, use gymnastics, if it is a new page, remove the old page properly then use gymnastics. We do not want a ton of different outdated pages showing up if we search KidSpirit Gymnastics.
Use the URL as a keyword that people would search for.

Images are often the largest file on a website taking up to 50% of the entire load. Improper-sized or formatted images can increase the loading time significantly. It is best practice to keep images less than 1024 pixels in any direction (width and height) and use the next-generation image format e.g. WebP or JPEG. Unless there is a good reason where quality and size are a priority, it is recommended that these best practices are always being used. Also, note that the size of the image should be less than 0.8 MB in most cases, 2 MB should be the maximum unless there is a good enough reason. Keep in mind that websites are just like files that a web browser has to download, the bigger the image is the bigger the entire website gets and the longer it takes to download.

FILL IN THE ALT TEXT!!! DONT JUST LEAVE IT BLANK!!!
THESE SETTINGS ARE AVAILABLE WHEN YOU UPLOAD OR EDIT THE IMAGE.
Like anything on the website, images are being crawled by search engines but they do not know what is inside an image other than it is an image. So it is important that we include a description for the images in the text so that search engines can tell what is in it and match it with keywords. This description is called alt text. And since it is treated like keywords, it is important for people to search up the images easily. All images should have alt text available.

Like images, videos are often the largest file on a website. And like images, there are some formats that are better for websites to serve, these next-generation formats are WebM and MP4, refrain from using GIF as they are unnecessarily large. Since KidSpirit uses YouTube to hosts videos, this part does not apply much. However, keep in mind that videos on YouTube are still on the website, the browser still has to load them, and the bigger they get the slower it will be. Try to limit the number of videos on the website as much as possible.

Since KidSpirit hosts videos on YouTube, employing best practices on YouTube is important. It usually comes down to using keywords in the title, description, category, and tags. And be sure to change the thumbnail image to something you want people to see.
