Welcome to KidSpirit Technical Manual!

This manual is intended for staff working on KidSpirit websites. It requires familiarity with basic web development (HTML, CSS, JS) and basic version control (Git/GitHub). Dr. Rob Hess's class CS 290 at OSU should provide sufficient knowledge to proceed.
First of all, we would like to welcome you to the KidSpirit Office / Marketing / IT team 😉
KidSpirit does not have a dedicated IT team, so if you work in marketing or the office, you are part of the IT team.
First, let's provide some context. If you are looking at this guide, you are our tech person. Depending on what you are working on, you may or may not have anyone to help you.
For instance, if you work with OSU hardware (that will be the computer; Everything else is not included), you can get help from the Community Network (CN) by calling 541-737-8787.
The solution? Brave souls like you will fix all KidSpirit IT problems, nice eh? After all, KidSpirit doesn't need an IT staff when there is staff like you to handle everything 😉. You may break the entire system, open a vulnerability for hackers to hack, lose valuable data, or destroy hardware, and many other things that have happened before. But not to worry, these guides include detailed protocols and instructions; if you follow them word for word, there shouldn't be any problems.
But if it's the website, you're on your own. The OSL provides basic support for web development, but that doesn't mean they will write the code for you. They will let you know how it's done, but you must do it alone. Welcome to the KidSpirit Technical Manual!
