This demonstration shows how energy is carried in waves by demonstrating sympathetic resonance. Two tuning forks of the same resonant frequency are placed on the table. One is struck then dampened. You can faintly hear the other one resonating.

Setup:
Place the tuning forks and hammer on the lab table.
Strike one of the tuning forks. Touch the tuning fork to dampen it. You should faintly hear the second tuning fork.
