Charge Propelled Cylinder

A charged rod will induce charge separation and attract a neutral soda can causing it to roll.

Setup:

Place the equipment on the lab table.Place the soda can on its' side so that it can roll. Vigorously rub the fur on the rod to charge it. Bring the rod near the can to cause it to roll.

This can be done with the rod and silk or the balloon as well.
