Soap Film Interference

Setup:

Set up the rod attached to the demo table. Place the platform on the rod. Attach a short rod with a right angle clamp to the top of the rod.

Place the light source on the platform.

Attach the lens to a ring stand and place to one side of the platform.

Place the liquid mixture (water, dish soap, glycerine) on the platform.

Hang the metal loop from the short rod.

To create the film, carefully dip the metal loop in the liquid.

Turn on the light and adjust the lens to project a clear image.

Notes:

Be careful, the lamp gets warm.
