Several balls are suspended from a frame so that they hang touching. The balls can be pulled away from the system and released to show different collisions and the transfer and conservation of momentum in each case.

Setup:
Place the apparatus on the lab table. If using a webcam, connect it to the computer and set it up to view the demonstration.
Pull one or multiple balls away from the system, then release them to see how the system reacts.

Will it ever occur that a different number of balls moves away from one side than hits the other? What would you need to change in order for that to occur?
