This demonstration shows that reflected light is polarized. Light is reflected off a glass plate. A polarizer placed in the beam is used to show that the light is polarized.

Setup:
Stand the glass plate up and mount it to the stand using the burette clamp.
Align the lamp with the glass plate so that part of the light is reflected onto the wall.
Place the polarizer in the path of the light and rotate it to show that the light is polarized after it is reflected.
The glass plate may be rotated to find Brewster's Angle.
Notes:
This may work better in a darkened room.
