Tape Player Setup:
Insert the audio jack into the Monitor jack on the cassette player. Connect the other end of the audio cable to the inner coil. Attach the speakers and the outer coil to the sound system. Press play on the cassette player and move the inner coil in and out of the outer coil to hear the music start and stop coming out of the speaker.
Phone Setup:
Insert the audio jack into the phone (with the dongle if necessary). Connect the other end of the audio cable to the inner coil. Attach the speakers and the outer coil to the sound system. Press play on the phone and move the inner coil in and out of the outer coil to hear the music start and stop coming out of the speaker.
Notes:
For a quantitative understanding of the fluctuations in volume, use the analog decibel meter near the speakers.
The amplifier pictured in the video is not necessary for the demonstration, since the speakers in the picture have been replaced with more powerful speakers. Both the white speaker and the amplifier are not present in the kit.
The sound system can be loud enough such that the effect of moving the coils can be heard throughout a large classroom.
