Hand Crank Generator and Bulb

This demonstration shows conversion of mechanical to electrical energy. When the handle is turned on this simple hand crank generator, the bulb lights up.

Setup:

Place the hand crank generator and bulb in socket on the demo table. Make sure that the bulb is screwed in so it makes a solid connection.

Clip the alligator leads onto the bulb socket.

Turn the handle on the generator and watch the bulb light up. The faster the handle is turned, the brighter the bulb gets.
