The refraction tank shows how light is reflected and refracted when traveling from air to water. The rotating light source allows you to change the angle of incidence and the scale on the apparatus allows for measuring the angle of reflection and refraction. This can be used to study Snell's Law. Total Internal Reflection can also be seen at the appropriate angle.

Setup:
Set the apparatus on the lab table. Fill the tank halfway (up to the 90o line) with water. Connect the power supply. Connect the webcam to the projector system. Setup the webcam to view the tank.
Turn on the light source and rotate it to see different angles. This can be used to calculate Snell's Law or view Total Internal Reflection.
