The dishes used by the staff and participants in the camp are manually washed by the base camp staff hired for the program except for the plates and utensils provided by the caterer.
Three large buckets
Dishwashing Soap
Sponge
High-pressure water hose
Table for the washing station
Drying rack
From one of the bathroom units of Ensuites, you will find two hoses connected. The green hose is for the hot water and the blue hose is for the cold water.
Slowly detangle the green hose with the hot water, bring it near the table for your washing station and use it to wash the dishes.
Prepare the drying racks and three large buckets. The first bucket is to clean the leftovers from the plates, the second bucket is to wash the plates with the dishwashing soap and the third bucket is for rinsing the plates to remove all the soap and bubbles.
Fill the first and last bucket with water and the second bucket with soap and water.
Remove the leftovers from the dirty dishes by spraying it with water from the high pressure hose.
Pour any leftovers such as chai tea, drinks or leftover food. Then move the dishes to the first bucket to wash it with water. Wash the glassware first before anything else to take advantage of the clean water from the buckets to make sure that nothing will stick to it once washed.
Add a small amount of dishwashing liquid to the sponge and scrub the dishes with the soap making sure that everything have been covered.
The second bucket is used to make sure that everything's been washed with soap. The dishes can be soaked in the second bucket before moving it to the third bucket.
Rinse the dishes and make sure that there is no soap left behind in the plates, cups and other utensils. After, transfer the dishes to the drying rack.
It is ideal to use hot water in the rinsing bucket because it dries up faster. Allow the clean dishes in the drying rack to air dry but it can also be wiped with a small towel to dry it easily. Once everything's dry, it can now be returned back to the kata tent or kitchen tent and ready to be used again.
