Branded Merchandise

It is a really nice touch for clients to have waiting for them in their tents on arrival a gift pack. Over the years we have offered a range of items with examples seen below. Aside from being a nice gift, we like to ensure that the items are FUNCTIONAL. ie they make the guest stay slightly more enjoyable. From a marketing perspective, it is also nice that clients leave with items that they will use (and therefore have a constant reminder of their time with MAG. For this reason, it is CRITICAL that the Merchandise that we order is either:

- Co-branded with client
- Exclusive MAG branding on it

Given the premium nature of the MAG brand the gift pack items need to be high QUALITY. There is a LARGE amount of work in this whole process (from pre-production to merch in tents). We are want to operate on a 50% margin on product.

Step 1: Request quote from merch company (Email Template: Request quote)

Send email a minimum of two months prior to the program

While this may seem fairly straight forward, this step will involve a bit of back and forth with the company. Be clear on the products you wish to get quotes for and ensure you put the PAX and provide a deadline date (normally make it a week or two EARLIER than you need, as a buffer). Make sure you have the client logo if this is a co-branded merchandise order.

Step 2: Collate document with products

Complete during the Step 1 process as you hear back from merchandise company

Create a document with images of the products and the final cost. Make sure you have logos on the products in the position they will be printed.

Step 3: Provide branded options & formal costs to client (Email Template: Share branded merch)

Send email a minimum of 6 weeks prior to program

After collating the document in Step 2, send it through to the client for final approvals. This step must be followed up in order to progress to printing asap.

Step 4: Send merchandise company confirmation to proceed (Email Template: Confirm printing to proceed)

Send email once Step 3 is complete

Immediately after receiving confirmation from the client, send an email to the merchandise company to proceed with printing. You will need to keep in communication during the process as there will be a number of design and artwork documents to approve. Make sure you confirm the final date of delivery/pick up of the products.

Additional Notes

Merchandise Pack Costs

With the quoted rate from Merch company, add a 100% markup. ie if Cost of Merchandise is $100 per unit (ex GST) -> we charge client $200 per unit (ex GST). If the client is ordering multiple items (ie a welcome pack), speak to James as we might do a discounted "pack" price.
