Yom Kippur is this week! No school on Thursday, September 16th.
September 15 to October 15 is celebrated nationwide as National Hispanic Heritage Month. It traditionally honors the cultures and contributions of both Hispanic and Latino Americans as we celebrate heritage rooted in all Latin American countries. During this month and throughout the year, we, and our Spanish teachers and students, learn and share history, heritage, and accomplishments of Hispanic and Latino Americans of past and present. Robious Middle joins the celebration this week. You will notice information, decorations, projects and student art from our Spanish classes displayed in some areas of our school.
All Robious Middle young scholars will be receiving a brand new Chromebooks on Tuesday, September 14. It is important that every student brings their Chromebook and charger to school on Tuesday in order to trade in their current Chromebook for the brand new model.
James River High School's first home football game is this Friday, September 17 and it’s FEEDER PATTERN NIGHT!
The fun begins at 5:30pm for students in grades Pre-K - 8 who attend this tailgate. Mission BBQ, Kona Ice, and games will be part of the event prior to the game.
Young scholars who represent RMS with spirit wear or school colors will enter the game for free!
RMS Families,
The front office has been experiencing an overwhelming influx of foot traffic these first few weeks of school. Moving forward, we are increasing safety measures in order to reduce contact and protect students and staff. In an effort to reduce the amount of people in and out of the office daily we ask that families be mindful of the following:
Tardies - If your student is coming in late or returning from an appointment, please send them in with a note, if you have forgotten a note please call attendance 804-378-2510 option #3 or email martine_wladar@ccpsnet.net
Forgotten belongings - we ask that only essential items be dropped off for students (i.e. Chromebooks, glasses, or lunches) As a reminder lunch is free for all students this year.
When coming into the school, please do not enter the front office unless you have a scheduled appointment or are picking up a student for early dismissal. If dropping off an essential item please place it on the table in the vestibule clearly labeled with your student's name. As a reminder masks are still required for all visitors.

A huge thank you to Rob and Karla Thompson of Eggs Up Grill Midlothian, for a successful spirit night last week. Their generosity allowed the PTSA to earn $1800 to benefit the students and staff of RMS. Also to our wonderful volunteers and families that bought tickets to support the event- we couldn’t have done it without you!
So Close to Our Goal!
The PTSA is so close to achieving our membership and donation goals. We currently have 402 members on a goal of 500 and have received $4625 in donation to the Raider Fund on a goal of $5000. We hope to wrap up both of these goals by the end of September. You can join the PTA and donate to the Raider Fund from our website. https://robiousmiddleschool.memberhub.com
Applications are now being accepted for students interested in a leadership position within the PTSA. Students have received information during morning announcements and applications are available from their Roundtable teachers. Completed applications are due to the office by end of day, Friday September 17th.
