I hope everyone has had some fun and remained warm during the snow days!

Due to the snow days, we are rescheduling the viewing of the documentary "Screenagers." It showcases the effect of screen time on the adolescent brain.

It will be held January 18 at 7pm in the RMS forum. There are a few free tickets left if you would like to register! Your students will see the documentary in school next week, so we prefer that this be an adults-only viewing.

PARENTS.......PLEASE HELP ROBIOUS GROOVY GREEN RAIDERS IN OUR PLASTIC CHALLENGE. SAVE ALL YOUR PLASTIC BAGS, AND OUTER PLASTIC COVERS OF WATER BOTTLES, TOILET PAPER, PAPER TOWELS, BREAD BAGS AND SO ON. NOT WATER BOTTLES OR MILK CARTONS.

YOUR STUDENTS KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH THE BAGS. THEIR NAME WILL BE PUT IN A MONTHLY DRAWING.

THINK OF ALL THE PLASTIC WE'RE KEEPING OUT OF THE LAND FILL BY GETTING INVOLVED WITH OUR SCHOOL RECYCLING CHALLENGE.

Climbing club will be meeting at Peak Experiences on Thursday (1/12) from 3:00 to 4:00 pm.

There will be a Groovy Green People meeting on Thursday (1/12) in room 382 from 3:00 to 4:00 pm.

The boys basketball team will be traveling to Matoaca Middle School on Thursday (1/12).

The CodeRVA Student Application System is now open. The application process will remain open through February 24, 2017.

You may access information regarding the application and student selection process and the application system by visiting the coderva.org and clicking on the "Apply" tab or by following the direct links in this email.

Student Eligibility

CodeRVA participating public school divisions are: Chesterfield, Colonial Heights, Dinwiddie, Hanover, Henrico, Hopewell City, New Kent, Petersburg City, Powhatan, Prince George, Richmond City, and Sussex.
Any student that is eligible for enrollment in grade 9 or 10 during 2017-2018 in a CodeRVA participating public school division may apply for CodeRVA High School. If not currently enrolled in a CodeRVA participating public school division (private school or home schooled), evidence of eligibility may be required.

Student Application Information

The CodeRVA Student Application System is now available. The application system is optimized for use on a desktop or laptop computer.
Completed applications must be submitted byFebruary 24, 2017.
Student eligibility for CodeRVA will be verified by school division staff.
Selected students will be notified by March 10, 2017.
Selected students will be asked to confirm their intent to attend CodeRVA by March 24, 2017.
