All teachers and staff return to the school on Monday (8/16) and our office hours beginning Monday are 7:00am to 3:00pm Monday through Friday.
Face masks are now required for all individuals entering school and riding the bus. This includes all students, staff, and adults (all individuals aged 2 and older). It is important to review the CCPS COVID-19 Guidance which can be found here.
Parents & Students,
2021-22 schedules can now be viewed on Parent/StudentVue. Please know that schedules are still subject to change until school starts due to enrollments and balancing of classes.
All elective classes are very full. Every effort was made to give students their top choice electives but many students were given backups due to class availability. If the student did not choose adequate backup electives in the spring, they were placed into any available elective. 8th graders who have not already taken Career Exploration in middle school are required to take it this year.
Please note, Make it Your Business is a new class that we are offering to replace any Family & Consumer Science requests. Family & Consumer Science will not be offered this school year.
If you notice an error on your schedule, please fill out this google form. Counselors will prioritize any errors from the form as they are received prior to schedule day on August 19. Teacher requests and elective changes will not be honored. We appreciate your patience as we address schedule corrections.
Cheerleading tryouts update! This is a change: Cheerleading tryouts will be on August 25 from 3:15 - 5:00pm and on August 27 from 5:45 - 7:00pm. The dates are different from what was originally published. I'm sorry for any inconvenience. The tryouts will be held at James River High School. Please email RMS cheerleading coach, Annak_Gahagan@ccpsnet.net with any questions.
Please be sure that your home address information is up to date in ParentVUE. Here is the message that was sent to families from CCPS on July 27: Now is the time to check your home address and any alternative addresses listed in ParentVUE. Make sure you have updated whether your child is riding a bus or not. This is particularly important if your child was virtual last school year. It is important to make any needed updates as soon as possible so school officials can plan bus routes for the 2021-22 school year. Unless parents provide alternative in-school-zone address information, a student’s bus stop is based solely on the home address.
If you have questions, please call the Transportation Department at 804-748-1656.
We will be having an Open House for students and families on Thursday, August 19. 6th graders are welcome to come in from 1:30 to 2:30pm. 7th and 8th grade families are welcome to come in from 3:00 to 4:00pm. There will not be a formal program, but this is an opportunity to come into the school house, and see where all of your classes will be and meet our incredible staff. This will also be a great opportunity to join the PTA & drop off any immunization records. Please remember that face masks are required to enter the school.
The first day of school for 6th graders is on Monday, August 23.
The first day of school for 7th and 8th graders is on Tuesday, August 24.
Remember that all seventh graders are required by law to have the Tdap vaccination AND one dose of the Meningococcal Conjugate vaccine before entering school. They will not be able to attend school until we have the record of their immunizations. Click here for more information.
Remember that if your student is interested in trying out for any interscholastic sports that they need to have a completed concussion form and VHSL physical form completed by a medical professional dated May 1, 2021 or after. Physicals will be available at Robious Middle School on Friday, August 27 from 2:15 to 3:30pm for $30.00 if your child needs one. Please make checks payable to Dr. Jim Miller. The physical form can be found here.
You put the US in RobioUS!
