Penny Wars has started for RMS!
Now through December 17th, students can make donations to the charity of their choice by depositing coins in the bins located outside the lunchroom. Students can choose to donate to: Chesterfield County Food Bank, Richmond Animal League or Children’s Hospital of Richmond. Use your change to make a change for good!
Start planning for our final Spirt Day of 2021. Friday, December 17 will be tacky holiday sweater day. Get creative and see how festive you can be on the last day of school before Winter Break.
This holiday season, Robious will be participating in a food drive. This food drive will benefit Feed More, and help countless hungry neighbours in our community. You will see a box by the front office. Please bring in food to donate. The final collection day is Friday December 17th. There's a huge need for peanut butter, cereal, soup, oatmeal, and vegetables. Let's see if we can help collect 2,000 pounds of food. Thank you!

National Charity League is a mother-daughter program focused on volunteerism and leadership development for middle and high school-aged girls. In January, Midlothian's local chapter will be accepting applications for next year for new members currently in grades 6-9. Any current 7th and 8th graders interested in playing football at James River High School next year, workouts will start on Monday, December 6th at 3:15 PM at the James River High School track. If you are interested, you need to attend on Monday and bring tennis shoes for the workout. The Rapids' football team is coming off of a 9-3 season and a playoff victory. We look forward to many of you joining the program this offseason.

Hooked on Books is a James River High School Senior Capstone Project. It is a book drive and author's event benefiting K-2nd grade students at a local title one elementary school in Chesterfield County, Jacobs Road Elementary School. Any old or slightly worn picture books or early reading level chapter books would be greatly appreciated! A large bin will be located at the main entrance of RMS from December 6th-December 17th. We would greatly appreciate your support!

Mr. Berry and Kids Fit & Fun is offering a Holiday Basketball Clinic here at school over winter break. The clinic will be held on December 28, 29 and 30 from 9am to 2pm each day. The clinic is for any girl or boy ages 7 to 14. There is no experience necessary to attend the clinic. You can sign up for one day, two days or join him for all three days. Curbside meal pickup during December
Five days of breakfasts and lunches for children under the age of 18 are distributed curbside 3:30-4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays at several sites. However, curbside meal pickup will not take place Dec. 21 and Dec. 28 when schools are closed for winter break, so the Dec. 14 pickup will include three weeks of meals to cover through Jan. 4, when curbside pickup resumes.
Curbside meal pickup sites are Bon Air Elementary, Crenshaw Elementary, Matoaca Elementary, Carver Middle, Manchester Middle, Providence Middle, Salem Church Middle, Bird High, Cosby High, Thomas Dale High, Meadowbrook High, Monacan High and CTC@Hull. Children do not have to be present for pickup.
