Congratulations to Avery Redmond and Josh George who participated in the "Clash of the Titans" Speech and Debate Tournament at Cosby High School on January, 20. Both students competed in the speech category, with Avery performing poetry excerpts from "Brown Girl Dreaming" by Jacqueline Woodson and Josh gave an original oratory on Feminism.

Exercise for a cause this Super Bowl weekend at acac Midlothian’s 11th Annual Ber’s Bowl! Join us Friday, February 2-Sunday, February 4, as acac Midlothian opens its doors and offers free group exercise classes to the public to raise money for pediatric cancer research. For every group exercise class a member attends, we’ll donate $1 to Cookies for Kids’ Cancer. Plus, we’ll donate $5 for each class a non-member takes! Click here for more information.
Reminder: If a student has lost his/her agenda, he/she can purchase a new one in the main office for $5.00.
We will be issuing new Chromebooks to all scholars on Tuesday, January 30th. Please remind your scholar to bring in the charger and the Chromebook. If he/she has lost the Chromebook there is a $100 fee that must be paid before a new one can be issued. Please keep in mind that purposeful damage or a lost Chromebook results in a $100 fee. If accidental damage occurs three times, there is a $100 fee. Please remind your scholar, in addition to charging it every night, to take care of the Chromebook. This means not leaving it out for a younger sibling to play with or carelessly tossing a backpack around with it inside.
Congratulations to Mrs. Coulliard and Mrs. McDonald who studied and took the earth science PRAXIS exam. They are now both certified to teach earth science. Kudos for taking on this professional development.
