Robious Middle's Building Operations Supervisor, Mr. Williams, is currently serving our country and away from his family. Staff sent some holiday cheer in the form of a care package.

RMS Families,
Your students' teachers have been working extremely hard. I have instructed RMS teachers and staff to not look at email or Canvas over break. Please refrain from sending staff any emails or messages while we are out from 2:30pm on Friday December 18, 2020 to 7:00am on January 4, 2021. Families, students, and staff all need some quality time to recharge and enjoy the holidays without the added stress that comes with virtual school.
MAP testing will be on the following dates:
Wednesday, January 6th - Math
Wednesday, January 13th - Reading
Wednesday, January 20th - Language (6th and 7th grade only)
PSATs are canceled at the Middle School level for this school year.
Hello 8th grade families! CodeRVA applications are now open and will close February 20th. CodeRVA is a regional high school that is rethinking the use of time, space, and technology to provide opportunities for acceleration and college and career readiness especially in the area of computer science.
Please visit their website: https://coderva.org/ and view this presentation for more information! You can apply here. It is a very simple application as acceptance is based on a lottery system as opposed to an application/selection process. If you have any questions, please reach out to the 8th grade counselor, Mrs. Webster at amyo_webster@ccpsnet.net
Mental Health Resources for Students & Families in Need Over Break.
A number of local and national organizations partner with CCPS in support of student mental health and wellness. For additional information about resources to access when school is not in session during the Winter Break, please review Community-Based Mental Health Supports for Students & Families in Crisis.
Gifted education deadlines and processes for the 2020-21 school year have been adjusted due to the pandemic. Referral deadlines are now as follows:
Jan. 15, 2021: Students currently in grades 2-12
March 15, 2021: Students currently in grades K-1 (CCPS-enrolled students only)
Parents/guardians may submit an online referral form before the deadlines by visiting https://mychesterfieldschools.com/curriculum/gifted-education/
Some important notes regarding adjusted processes for this school year:
Gifted education assessments must be administered in person and cannot be done virtually. Testing details will be communicated to families in letters sent after the appropriate referral deadline.
Testing will take place in the school building according to an appointment schedule arranged by your child’s school. All safety guidelines will be in place before, during, and after testing.
For testing, students will need transportation to and from the school building.
Students will complete the paper-and-pencil creativity test, online thinking and reasoning test, and online Student Perception Inventory during this session.
Monitor status students who would be reviewed this year will have their monitor status extended for another year unless a parent/guardian requests evaluation. Referred kindergarteners and first graders from last spring who were not evaluated due to school closures will be evaluated this year during the window of their current grade level. Another referral form is not necessary for these students.
To submit an online referral form or for more information on gifted education in Chesterfield County Public Schools, please visit: https://mychesterfieldschools.com/curriculum/gifted-education/
You put the US in Robious!
