Robious Middle, along with the rest of Chesterfield County Public Schools is participating in National School Breakfast Week (NSBW) this week. It is a week to highlight and celebrate the benefits of breakfast and the opportunity for all of our students to receive a healthy meal at the start of their day. Fueling up at breakfast can boost attention, concentration, and memory, all of which helps our students in and out of the classroom. Lots of fun activities planned for next week including an opportunity to win a raffle prize for students who participate in school breakfast every day the week of March 5 through 9th.
8th Grade Parents:All 8th Grade students will be taking Writing SOL's on March 13 and March 15. Please make sure your child is on time, well rested, and full of a hearty breakfast. Thank you.
Congratulations to Jack Knorr! He has qualified to compete in the state level competition of the National Geographic Bee!
On Saturday a delegation of 40 RMS French students attended the 20th annual Congrès that was held at Matoaca High School. 24 schools from the metropolitan Richmond area and other parts of the state participated. The RMS students did themselves proud and were a credit to the school community! French teachers Valerie Beausergent and Debbie Bartle are very proud of their students.

8th Grade Student/Parents who are interested in finding more about HPE Online during the summer or next school year are invited to hear more about the options on MARCH 14 at 5:00pm in the school library. This is often a choice for students who cannot fit the electives they want in 9th Grade.
There will also a short Q and A with the AP Human Geography teacher, Shannon Castelo, from James River at 5:30. If your rising 9th Grader is signed up for AP Human Geography or contemplating it, you may want to attend.

With the events in Florida and across the nation, it is imperative that everyone be vigilant. I strongly urge all students, staff, and parents to communicate information with school officials and local law enforcement. Parents are encouraged to monitor their child's social media posts and behavior closely. I trust that our incredible staff, student body, and community will report anything that helps ensure our learning community continues to be a great place to learn and work.
Counseling coordinator, Martha Turner, and I met with students this past week to hear their thoughts on how the victims of the tragedy at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School should be remembered and honored. They shared their ideas on what options should be available for students who want to honor the victims on March 14. I informed the students that no matter what optional activity they proposed, it would need to be safe, supervised, and structured. More information about this optional activity will be forthcoming this week.
You put the US in Robious,
