• Many thanks to our RMS PTA for coordinating gift card donations. We are fortunate to have such a supportive and generous community. Here is a message from the PTA:

  • The PTA is astonished by the generosity of our parents! We raised over $3,500 in gift cards! We provided $1,845 in gift cards to RMS families experiencing homelessness, unemployment, or hard times and $1,475 in gift cards to RMS teachers and staff. • Robious Middle School's Outreach Committee, Library, and School Counseling are partnering to do a read aloud in January of the middle grade novel, Insignificant Events in the Life of a Cactus by Dusty Bowling. While we are unable to provide copies for each student to have at home, we want to let our families know, in case you would like to obtain a copy of this book from the public library, our library, or from a book store for your child to read along. Books make great holiday gifts!

• Attention Drama Club Members! Our next virtual meeting will be this Wednesday, December 16th from 2:10 until 3:45. If you haven’t come before and you’d like to join, use this link: http://bit.ly/RMSDrama Mrs. DiFazio will use the information you add through the link to add you to the Drama Club Canvas Course where you will find the meeting join code. We’ll put together some theatre and make some friends. Come make a scene!

• 8th grade families,

Here is an update on Specialty Center and Governor's School Applications:

1. If you submitted your application already you received an email two days ago saying you were eligible, and then another one saying you were ineligible. PLEASE IGNORE THESE EMAILS. They went out to all submitted applications and have no bearing whatsoever on your actual application. You do not need to do anything.

2. Submit is no longer final, you can go in and edit applications at any point until December 16th at 11:59pm.

3. Teacher recommendations are still a bit wonky. Each time you enter a teacher for one school, it is adding it to all schools. They are working on this.

4. The program is accepting statements of interest responses from each specialty center, even if they do not require one. It cannot hurt you to write one, but it also cannot hurt you to not write one.

5. I will be available next Wednesday from 9-9:45 and 11-11:45 for pop-in Q&As here. You can also message me through canvas with any questions or with links to anything you would like me to look over. Feel free to use this planning document to help you prepare and see examples.
